Rose Love

When you look at a beautiful rose, you can't help but smile.
When you breathe in the amazing aroma you can't help but feel relaxed and loved.

Did you know that roses have been used for ever for health and beauty products?

I am going to explain to you how to make some Rose products so that you can add these for a touch of luxury into your life.

How to make a Rose Tincture:

Fill a jar with dry or fresh rose petals
Pour in vodka. Place lid on jar
Leave for at least six weeks.
Strain and bottle.

Rose tinctures are generally used in small amounts. One half to one dropper full at a time on the tongue delivers the medicinal qualities of the rose directly to the bloodstream. Sometimes I add a dropper full to a small glass of water or an herbal tea.

How to make a Rose Infused Oil

Fill a jar with DRY rose petals
Cover with Extra Virgin Olive Oil or Almond Oil
Shake to make sure all are covered.
Leave for at least six weeks.
Strain and bottle.

Rose infused oil can be used directly for skin care, as a massage oil, to create a healing salve, or added to your favorite natural homemade lotion recipe. Rose is cooling, soothing, and excellent at relieving pain and inflammation. This makes rose oil perfect for all kinds of skin care including rashes, eczema, hives, and poison ivy.

How to make a Rose Glycerite

Fill a jar with fresh or dry rose petals
Cover with Food Grade Glycerine
Leave for at least six weeks.
Strain and bottle.

You can carry small bottles around with you. Whenever you need a little emotional rebalancing, take 2030 drops in a glass of water. Glycerin is 60% as sweet as sugar, so  this a sweet “medicine” indeed!

How to make a Rose Vinegar

Fill a jar with fresh or dry rose petals
Cover with Apple Cider Vinegar (or vinegar of your choice)
Don't use a metal lid, or if put a piece of wax paper on top of the vinegar.
Leave for a few weeks.
Strain and bottle.

Rose vinegar is lovely and can be used in a variety of ways, including:

  • Colorful vinaigrette salad dressings
  • Aromatic addition to sauces and marinades
  • Rose vinegar can be combined with water in a spray bottle to use on sunburns and bug bites – roses are cooling and offer relief from conditions of heat and inflammation.
  • Rose vinegar can be used diluted as a hair rinse.

How to make Rose Honey

Fill a jar with fresh or dry rose petals
Cover with honey.  Use a wooden skewer to stir to make sure all are covered.
Leave for a few weeks.
Strain and bottle.

Enjoy your rose honey drizzled over ice cream or yoghurt.
Use it in any recipe that calls for honey and this will give your creations an extra twist.
